All Relationships Matter

Often, relationships are mistakenly used as placeholders for personal satisfaction and validation. This approach, driven by selfishness, creates an imbalance that is often overlooked. Nonetheless, this imbalance results in unfulfilled expectations, limited shared values, and mediocre success, underscoring the necessity for authentic, balanced relationships. Relations should be true partnerships wherein independent contributions are seen, heard valued and needed. True partnerships realize, “together, we can accomplish more than we can alone.”

Some people and organizations treat others as objects because there is a lack of clear understanding and agreement on the objectives for the connection. This lack of mutual respect and shared goals prevents these connections from reaching their full potential and achieving legendary success.

All relationships go through three distinct phases, Forming, Storming and Performing.

Too often, we navigate the phases of relationships by default, allowing circumstances to dictate our path. But we have the power to change this. By approaching each phase with intention and purpose, we can steer our relationships towards greater success and fulfillment. Here are three foundational steps for developing legendary partnerships:

• Clarify Expectations – Establish a clear vision for the connection (Why).

• Establish Mutual Behavioral Requirements – Hold each other accountable for the success of the partnership (What).

• Make Collaboration and Purpose Review a Daily Habit – Incorporate regular check-ins to assess progress and goals (How).
